Abeneko is the founder of ASEDEVA and the overall Creative director of ASEDEVA. Abeneko has accomplished his African contemporary dance and choreography studies at Ecole Des Sable in Senegal. Abeneko is considered one of the stars of a new generation of Tanzanian performers, Abeneko is known for his work on stage as a dancer, in front of the camera acting, with his guitar as a musician, or behind the curtains as a theatre director, choreographer and event coordinator. With a focus on dance, music and theatre, He is motivated by the power of performing arts to express and question contemporary and complex issues such as identity, cultural diversity, politics, colonialism, postcolonial and economy for public education and entertainment.
As a proud ambassador for East African culture and music, He has participated in cultural exchanges and training programs in Tanzania, collaborating with influential artists from the local and international dance scene. He has also performed abroad with internationally acclaimed dance companies, such as Mouvoir, Man Copy, Flinn Works, Lumumba Theatre, Mionzi Dance Theatre, Visa2Dance, Fusso dance project, Tuchangamke, Nora Chipaumire and tours regularly throughout Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. He has also worked with influential artists and choreographers, such as Stephanie Thiersch, Germaine Acogny, David Zambrano, Nora Chipaumire, Musa Hlatshwayo, Opiyo Okach, Kefa Oiro, Patrick Acogny, Vanessa Tamburi and Aloyce Makonde.
